As on the dance floor, so in life--Kathy Altman
Whether you call yourself a loner or a lover, a joiner or a rebel, there’s just no getting around it: we are hard wired to be moving, relational animals with healthy human hungers for solitude, intimate connection, and belonging to something larger than ourselves.
In this weekend of Open Floor Movement, we take to the dance floor to consciously be in relationship with ourselves and each other. We turn the light of curiosity on our movements and what they have to tell.
How at home are you in your own company? Is your first motion forward or back in relation to another? Where are we likely to find you in a group—in the middle, on the edge, or out the door? How do we remember to rest in something larger than ourselves, the basic goodness of communing with spirit?
During our time together, we will dance and use verbal inquiry to try something new, bare witness to patterns that are old—in service to more fluidity and freedom in all our relations.
Kathy Altman, founding member of Open Floor Interntional, is devoted to fostering embodied movement as a healing art. For more information about Kathy see www.openfloor.org.
